Small things...

We finally caught Tarren smiling in a picture. It is so hard to snap a picture before he stops smiling. He is getting so big so fast. I can't believe how much he changes every week. He has started to take a pacifier better. He still won't keep it all the time, but he is better. We started giving it to him because he has gotten in the habit of sucking on his fist. We don't want him to suck his thumb and I know eventually if he keeps sucking on his fist that he will find his thumb.

He is such a little chunk! His belly is huge! This is after a shower with daddy.

I love Rice Cereal!!!

So, my mother-in-law told me that if I put a tsp or two of cereal into Tarren's bottle that I give him before he goes to bed that it would help him sleep longer and better. So, I tried it on Monday. I am amazed!! I can not believe how well it works. I set my alarm for 5 because we feed him at 9 and I don't want him to go more than 8 hours without eating. Well, I get up and make Spencer's lunch and then go in to get him and he is still alseep. So, I leave the door open and just watch a little t.v. He usually wakes up a few minutes later. I am sooooo thankful that my mother-in-law told me that!! I love getting 6-7 hours of sleep. I just need to train myself to go to bed right after I feed him so I can get 8 hours too.

My mom came over yesterday to visit. Tarren fell right alseep on her. I love how he is all sprawled out. He looks very relaxed.

Fourth of July weekend

We went up to Cold Springs on Thursday to visit our friends Jodie, Alan and Josh. Cold Springs is near Lake Livingston. They live in a very relaxing neighborhood. I like to sit out on their porch and just swing. They have this gorgeous house. I love it!! The decoration and the remodeling they have done make it look like a house out of a magazine. We stayed the night and then we celebrated the Fourth of July with them. We went down to the lake that night to watch the fireworks. It was a lot of fun. Tarren slept through the whole thing. I was shocked because the fireworks were really loud. We had a blast staying with the Kraemers and the food they grilled was amazing. We had the best lunch ever! They grilled steak, shrimp and squash. It was sooooo yummy! Jodie made some really good potatoes, broccoli and then the dessert...YUMMMM!!! It was probably one of the best meals I have ever had. Tarren loved Jodie. He was just fascinated by her. I did a really bad job of taking pictures...matter of fact I didn't take any! I guess we will just have to make another trip up there. :)

On Saturday evening, we went down to Pearland to spend the night. Spencer's brother Trevor and his family were in town. They had come down from Lubbock to be there for the baby blessing on Sunday. Carigan and Tarren were both being blessed. Ryan, there newest addition to their family, is adorable. He is 2 months older than Tarren. He is a little talker. He was just talking away. Well, not really talking but babbling. It was really cute. On Sunday, we went to the Friendswood Stake Center for church. Adrian blessed Carigan first and then Spencer blessed Tarren. It was a beautiful blessing. After church, we all went to Heath's house for lunch. It was good. I was going to take a picture of Tarren in his blessing outfit, but we didn't get it in time. He had a blowout. I heard it coming and tried to get him undressed, but I was not quick enough. Spencer washed it out in the sink and it did not stain. Thank goodness!!! After dinner, we went outside to get all of the Bradshaw boys and their families picture taken with their mom. We then took a picture of all of the grandchildren. She now has 10 in all.

I will have to dress Tarren again in his outfit and take a picture. I will post that later.

Camping in San Antonio

Our 2 year anniversary was May 27th, but because Tarren was so young we decided to wait until June to celebrate it. We really wanted to go camping, so we picked San Antonio and decided to stay at a KOA. Tarren stayed with Spencer's mom for the weekend. Spencer was very excited about camping and he found some firewood to use, but it had to be chopped. He spent a lot of time outside the firewood and he did a great job.

This is only a small portion of what he chopped. And yes, our grass is dead. We just haven't gotten around to watering the back. I guess we should. So, the wood was chopped and ready to go. Friday came and it was time to start packing. Spencer's mom came down to get Tarren and helped us finish getting everything together. I was starting to miss Tarren and he wasn't even gone yet. So, around 12 she took Tarren back with her to Pearland. We got everything out in the driveway and started to load the car. We had way to much stuff, but Spencer was able to pack it all. I was amazed. He is really good at packing. Behind his seat, he had the firewood stacked to all the way from the floor to the ceiling. On the other side, he had two small mattresses. We didn't want to sleep on the ground. The rest of the stuff went in the trunk. These items were: a big ice chest, a large suitcase, a tent, three chairs, sports equipment, a plastic bin of food, a plastic bin of small pieces of wood, a bag of kindling, a jack, first aide kit, a fan, and quite a bit of other random stuff.

We finally left around 1:00. The car was so heavy we were bottoming out. We played the ABC game all the way to San Antonio. Spencer beat me this time, but only because he got a headstart. He was to the letter L before I even started. We arrived in San Antonio around 3:00 and started setting up camp.

The tent was a little tricky. It is quite big.
So, after the tent was set up it was time to get the fire going. We had a lot of firewood to burn, so we needed to make as many fires as possible and believe me we did.

We had chicken foil dinners that night and then we went for a swim down at the pool. We played this game called gator ball and had a blast. We were the only two people really in the pool. There was an older lady that was sitting outside of the pool watching. She asked us if we were newly weds and when we told her we had been married for two years she was shocked. She said we acted like we were newly weds. We were happy to hear that. We want it to never change. After swimming, we came back and Spencer got another fire going. We had s'mores. YUMMMM!!
The night was gorgeous. We didn't got to bed till almost one. It was breezy and not humid. It was a little warm, but we were able to sleep. We got up the next morning and had sausage, eggs and bacon. It wasn't too bad, but it was different than what we were used to being cooked over an open flame. We played a little frisbee and then went swimming again. I forgot to put sunscreen on and got quite a burn. It was very hot outside. We went back to camp. Spencer was not feeling well, so he sat in the car for around an hour. When he still didn't feel good, I decided that maybe we should head back home. I wasn't feeling the best either. So, we packed up and headed home. We arrived late Saturday night. Tarren came home on Sunday. I can't believe how much I missed him. I don't think I put him down the rest of the day. We had fun camping, but we decided that when we go camping again it will only be in October, November, etc. No more camping in June. And yes, we almost used all of that firewood. Spencer loves to make fires.

I love my boys!!!

The other night after a late feeding, we put Tarren to bed and decided to have a little snack. As with anything, Spencer came up with a game. So, we were tossing cheese cubes back and forth and trying to catch them in our mouths. I threw one to Spencer and it landed exactly like this on his lip. Even though he didn't get it in his mouth, he got 1/2 a point because it was pretty good catch.

Also, this pictures shows where Tarren gets his lips. He has Spencer's lips and there is no doubt about it.

Tarren is two months now and I still haven't started his baby book. So, yesterday I got to work on making him a scrapbook/baby book. I think it turned out pretty cute. My goal now is to start working on the pages that are going to go inside it. I want to try and get all of my scrapbooking done before the summer is over. It will be hard because I am way behind and it is already almost July.

Tarren is working on smiling. He has smiled a few times now, but it isn't consistent yet. I keep trying to catch him with the camera, but it is impossible. Hopefully, he will be smiling more often and it will be easier. He does stick his tongue in his lower lip a lot. It is pretty cute.

Shots stink!!!

Today was Tarren's 2 month check-up. He was such a good sport through it all. He is now 22 inches long and he weighs a 11 lbs 14 ounces. He is in the 50th percentile for weight and the 25th percentile for height...so he is not looking too shabby. The doctor said he is looking really good and meeting all his requirements of what a 2 month old should be doing. After the doctor checked him out, the nurse came in to give him his shots. This nurse is not my favorite. The last time I had to deal with her she was trying to get blood from his foot and did not know what the heck she was doing. She spent 20 minutes trying to get this little bitty vile of blood and did not even get a 1/4 of it. She almost broke poor little Tarren's ankle. They had to send in another nurse that got the whole vile in less than 2 minutes and didn't even make Tarren cry. Well, this time she gave him his shots and then got blood on his onesie. She starts to tell me how to wash it to get it out. I really don't like this nurse. Anyways, Tarren did cry and cry and cry. Poor little guy. He was so sad from his shots. Thank goodness we won't have to do that again for 2 more

months.

He went straight to sleep after his shots.
Here is the blood. It isn't a ton, but I still don't like it.

Pictures and cousins are fun!!!

My sister came over to visit today and brought my nephew Brayden and a CD of pictures we got taken when Tarren was just a week and a half old. It was fun to have them visit. Also, my cousins wife came over with her two sons. It is quite the experience to have toddlers running around. My house is not kid proofed at all, but there was nothing they could hurt... so it didn't really matter. It was really nice to have them visit. The pictures turned out fantastic and I can't wait to print them. I have already forgotten how small he used to be.

On a different note, I started working out again and it is pathetic.I have a very very long way to go before I am back to where I used to be. Ten pound weights right now make me sore and crunches... I don't even like to talk about how weak I am there. Spencer and I have been trying to get our cardio in. We walk to the park and play tennis and basketball. It is nice to get out and enjoy the sun...not so much the heat...but that is impossible to avoid.

We went to church yesterday for the first time. It is really hard to wake up and go to 8:00 church. It is weird to not be in the nursery. Tarren was very good. He slept the whole time.
