Why does time fly so fast?

The summer is almost over and I am not ready for it to be. It feels like just the other day we got out of school. Jasten is now almost 2 1/2 months old. He is growing like a weed and is quite a chunk. He just recently started to sleep through the night(thank heavens), but we had to do the crying it out method. I was having a hard time functioning. I would be up all night and then I couldn't sleep during the day because the other 2 kids were up. So, this is much much better. The poor baby has a major rash on his face. The doctor insist it is irritated acne, but I think it is eczema or something else. It is really red and dry. I feel so bad for him. I hope it goes away soon. When he went to the doctor at 2 months, he was 48% in height and 90% in weight. They didn't say his head.

Samuel turned 2 and is one crazy boy. We had his birthday party here at the house and just had family over. He loves to copy his brother and is picking up on words very fast. He is still a big time mama's boy. Sometimes it is a little frustrating when I am trying to feed the baby and he wants to sit in my lap. I just don't have enough room for 2 during feeding time.

Tarren is learning to count to higher numbers and still loves spiderman. He took swim lessons this summer...well they were suppose to be swim lessons, but it ended up being just play time. So, next year will hopefully be better.

He's here!

Jasten Allen was born on Wednesday May 9th at 2:12 p.m. via csection. He weighed in at 7lbs 13 oz. Everything went great and I got to go home 2 days later. However, I had another allergic reaction to something they used in surgery. I broke out in 100's of blisters on and around the incision. It was horrible. I got steroids for the rash and the blisters popped and started to ooze. However, the rash decided to move. I started to get red bumps on my belly and chest. When I took a shower, my whole body itched. It was horrible. I went on a second round of steroids and it is finally starting to go away. I still itch when I take a shower, but it isn't nearly as bad.

Life with a 3rd child isn't that bad. The boys LOVE him. Samuel can't keep his hands off and always wants to hold him. It is a little harder when it comes to nap time. I am ready to nap too, but it seems that either the boys are awake or Jasten is. My mother-in-law stayed with us for a week and half, so that helped out tremendously. Jasten is a very calm child. He sleeps about 4 hours at a time and harldy ever fusses. He reminds me a lot of Tarren when he was a baby, which is a good thing. :) Life is good!

Update

Time is flying and I just can't seem to catch up. It is almost spring break and I can not wait. I am so ready for a week of just sleeping in and not having to do much. I am counting down the days until the baby is here. My ideal date is to make it as far as I can, so I don't get docked at work. However, I have to have a csection and if the baby is getting to big, then I will have to deliver early. I really want to make it to at least May 18th. I will get docked, but it won't be a ton. I am feeling really huge right now and I am only 29 weeks. I weigh almost as much as I did when I delivered Tarren and Samuel. SCARY! I am going to have a long hard road ahead after having the baby to try and lose weight. We still haven't come up with a name we both like. It is hard to name a boy the third time around. So, this baby is nameless for now. I officially turned 30 last month. It was probably the best birthday I have ever had. Spencer brought me lunch and presents with the kids at school. At the end of the day, he picked me up all dressed in his suit. We went shopping for new shoes and then we went to dinner at Perry's. It was so romantic. He had a private dining area. The dinner was soooo yummy and he had them bring me out a present with each portion of our meal. In the end, I had a beautiful jewelry set. I love my husband and I love how much special attention he pays.

Tarren has finally figured out the potty thing. He goes without us asking and he doesn't expect a present anymore. He has had a couple of accidents, but he has done really well. He is growing so fast. He still loves spiderman! We are going to have a spiderman themed birthday party in April for him. He can not wait!

Samuel...what to say about Samuel. He is quite a mess. He loves to copy his brother and they fight over a lot of things. He loves to cuddle in the morning and is a mama's boy big time. He loves to give kisses to my belly and rub the baby. His favorite word is NO. Instead of being a biter, he is a licker. When I go in to give him a kiss, he will straight up lick you. Crazy kid! He will be 2 in June and I can not imagine the fun that is going to wait us during that year.

Potty Training

Oh Potty Training. I think it might be the death of me. I tried potty training Tarren in the Summer and he was doing really well with going pee and telling me when he had to go. He had a hard time with poop, but we kept trying. Once school started, he went backwards. He stopped telling me when he had to go and then he didn't even want to try. So, we put him back in a diaper. Fast forward to Christmas time. My mother-in-law offered to try and potty train him while we were there for the week. That went so-so. He started holding his poop and not going for days. So, we put him back in a diaper and then he started to go again. I figured he was going to be wearing diapers when he started school. After Christmas break, I was talking to one of my co-workers and she did the 3 day potty training book. So, we had a long weekend and I decided to try it. So far, it has worked. He has had a few accidents, but has done pretty good on the pee side of it. The poop side is another story. He knows how and he knows when it is coming. For awhile, he was getting prizes that he REALLY wanted and he would sit on the toilet and try until something came out. Now that those toys are all gone and some others are left that I guess aren't as desirable, he isn't trying. He just says, "I try later." The lady in her book said not to force them, but man it is hard not to make him stay and try to push. We know he has too because he is smearing in his underwear. He told me this morning, " mommy you need to buy more toys." I just can't do it. One...I am about to be broke from buying all of these things and Two...it makes me think he is holding it until he gets what he wants. I am going to try and hold out. He has to go sometime. I just hope it is in the toilet. :/

Christmas

We went to Missouri for Christmas to visit Meme and Pop pop. They live out on a ranch in the middle of no where. It was pretty cold while we were there. The kids did really well on the driving trip there and back. They slept most of the time. Before we left, we decided to let the kids open presents from us. There was no way we could take all of the gifts plus the more you take the more you will lose. They were really excited to open presents.

Christmas Day at the ranch

Tarren is OBSESSED with Spiderman.

Samuel and his drums.

Church

We went to a drive through zoo while we were there. Samuel loved feeding the animals and was not scared at all. Tarren, on the otherhand, was afraid and could care less about feeding them.

It was a lot of fun, but I was very glad when we got home. There is just nothing else like sleeping in your own bed. :)

Thanksgiving

We went down to Friendswood for Thanksgiving. We all went to Adrian's house. They had a bounce house set up in the back yard and the kids loved it. Well, mainly Tarren, but Samuel did get in there a couple of times.

We took some late pictures of the pumpkin.
