Summer Fun

Yesterday we went down to Pearland to have Tarren's picture taken. I had a free coupon from Olan Mills and the closest place was in Macy's in Pearland. So, we headed down to Pearland. The lady taking his picture was not the best. She could not get him to smile and if we tried to help she kept saying that we were confusing him. So, we got one pose for free and then the others we would have to pay for. I really just went for the free pose. It made it easier not to want to buy more pictures because of our options. They really weren't that fantastic. We were able to make it out of there without buying anything. We left there and met Spencer's mom, Lexi and Hunter for lunch. After lunch, we went back to the house and watched a movie. After the movie, we went outside to enjoy the hot weather for a little bit. Spencer and Hunter played a baseball game and I pushed Lexi in the swing. Then Spencer, Lexi and Hunter were playing on a slip 'n slide. They were having a lot of fun. I am not to keen on doing anything that requires me to land on my frontside right now...so I did not join in. I think after I stop nursing Tarren that I will find my way back to joys of landing on my stomach and chest. We hung out in Pearland until 11:30. It was fun to visit.

Everyone should love chocolate!!!

Last night, we decided to have brownies after dinner. So, I mixed up a batch of brownie mix and Spencer decided to let Tarren have a taste.

Spencer put it in his mouth. I think he got a little in his mouth, but most of it ended up on his face.

Tarren is trying to decide if he likes this new taste or not.
He does! Why wouldn't he...he is my child!

Small things...

We finally caught Tarren smiling in a picture. It is so hard to snap a picture before he stops smiling. He is getting so big so fast. I can't believe how much he changes every week. He has started to take a pacifier better. He still won't keep it all the time, but he is better. We started giving it to him because he has gotten in the habit of sucking on his fist. We don't want him to suck his thumb and I know eventually if he keeps sucking on his fist that he will find his thumb.

He is such a little chunk! His belly is huge! This is after a shower with daddy.

I love Rice Cereal!!!

So, my mother-in-law told me that if I put a tsp or two of cereal into Tarren's bottle that I give him before he goes to bed that it would help him sleep longer and better. So, I tried it on Monday. I am amazed!! I can not believe how well it works. I set my alarm for 5 because we feed him at 9 and I don't want him to go more than 8 hours without eating. Well, I get up and make Spencer's lunch and then go in to get him and he is still alseep. So, I leave the door open and just watch a little t.v. He usually wakes up a few minutes later. I am sooooo thankful that my mother-in-law told me that!! I love getting 6-7 hours of sleep. I just need to train myself to go to bed right after I feed him so I can get 8 hours too.

My mom came over yesterday to visit. Tarren fell right alseep on her. I love how he is all sprawled out. He looks very relaxed.

Fourth of July weekend

We went up to Cold Springs on Thursday to visit our friends Jodie, Alan and Josh. Cold Springs is near Lake Livingston. They live in a very relaxing neighborhood. I like to sit out on their porch and just swing. They have this gorgeous house. I love it!! The decoration and the remodeling they have done make it look like a house out of a magazine. We stayed the night and then we celebrated the Fourth of July with them. We went down to the lake that night to watch the fireworks. It was a lot of fun. Tarren slept through the whole thing. I was shocked because the fireworks were really loud. We had a blast staying with the Kraemers and the food they grilled was amazing. We had the best lunch ever! They grilled steak, shrimp and squash. It was sooooo yummy! Jodie made some really good potatoes, broccoli and then the dessert...YUMMMM!!! It was probably one of the best meals I have ever had. Tarren loved Jodie. He was just fascinated by her. I did a really bad job of taking pictures...matter of fact I didn't take any! I guess we will just have to make another trip up there. :)

On Saturday evening, we went down to Pearland to spend the night. Spencer's brother Trevor and his family were in town. They had come down from Lubbock to be there for the baby blessing on Sunday. Carigan and Tarren were both being blessed. Ryan, there newest addition to their family, is adorable. He is 2 months older than Tarren. He is a little talker. He was just talking away. Well, not really talking but babbling. It was really cute. On Sunday, we went to the Friendswood Stake Center for church. Adrian blessed Carigan first and then Spencer blessed Tarren. It was a beautiful blessing. After church, we all went to Heath's house for lunch. It was good. I was going to take a picture of Tarren in his blessing outfit, but we didn't get it in time. He had a blowout. I heard it coming and tried to get him undressed, but I was not quick enough. Spencer washed it out in the sink and it did not stain. Thank goodness!!! After dinner, we went outside to get all of the Bradshaw boys and their families picture taken with their mom. We then took a picture of all of the grandchildren. She now has 10 in all.

I will have to dress Tarren again in his outfit and take a picture. I will post that later.
